Xenoblade Chronicles X opens with a scene of utter destruction. A massive game that pushed the Wii U console to its limit, this is a title that may always be overshadowed when it comes to the mainline Xenoblade games but deserves recognition nonetheless. I’m talking about games like Game & Wario, Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and the topic of today’s review – Xenoblade Chronicles X. Not to say that the system didn’t have plenty of fantastic games but so many of them were oddball titles, part of larger series but belonging firmly in the ‘spin-off’ category.

The Wii U was a bizarre system with a bunch of bizarre games as part of its lineup.
